Italian Pastry Twists
















Ingredients



250g flour
1 egg
salt
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
50g melted butter 
25g sugar
45-60ml water
Icing sugar for dusting

Method


Sift the flour in a large mixing bowl and make a well in the center.Add the egg,salt,sugar,vanilla,and melted butter.Mix with your hand until the mixture starts to come together.

Now add water and make a soft dough and then wrap and chill for 1hour.Roll out  pastry thin and cut into strips.

Tie each one loosely into a knot.Now heat oil in a pan.Deep fry the knots for 2-3min until puffed and golden.Drain knots on paper towels.Dust generously with powdered sugar.Serve it hot.
